(HMA), which owns 71 hospitals in 15 states, in its $7.6 billion sale (including assumption of debt) to Community Health Systems, Inc. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2014 and is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval and HMA stockholder approval.
