New York Partner Addition Enhances K&L Gates’ International Arbitration Practice

The New York office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP has added James P. Duffy IV as a partner in the international arbitration practice. He joins K&L Gates from DLA Piper.

Duffy has extensive experience developing global dispute resolution strategies for clients, such as power companies, investment banks, trading companies, and government entities, among others, in multi-jurisdictional international disputes. He advises on international arbitration matters across a range of industries in the United States, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America administered by institutions such as the International Chamber of Commerce, the American Arbitration Association’s International Centre for Dispute Resolution, the London Court of International Arbitration, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, and the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, as well as in ad hoc arbitrations conducted under the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law rules. Duffy also counsels on regulatory matters, such governmental and private-sector anti-corruption measures.

“We are very happy to welcome J.P. to K&L Gates,” said Woody Collins, Administrative Partner of K&L Gates’ New York office. “His broad international experience will serve as a tremendous resource for our clients both in the United States and around the globe.”

Earlier this year, K&L Gates’ international arbitration practice also welcomed Kimberley Chen Nobles and Frank Schweitzer as partners in the firm’s Orange County and Washington, D.C., offices, respectively. In addition, the firm added London partner Mike Stewart, whose focus includes international arbitration in disputes arising from major energy and infrastructure projects, this week.
