Ashurst Advises on IPP3 Power Project in Jordan

Ashurst advised the funders on the successful development and financing, by a consortium of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), Mitsubishi Corporation and Wartsila, of the approximately US$ 800 million IPP3 independent power project in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, which reached financial close on 7 March 2013. Ashurst acted as international legal counsel to the ECAs, The Export-Import Bank of Korea (K-EXIM), Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) and the commercial lenders, The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Ltd., KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH, Mizuho Corporate Bank Ltd, Standard Chartered Bank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.

Hogan Lovells Advises SCOR in Major Transaction in Spain

Hogan Lovells has advised leading reinsurer SCOR on the value in force (VIF) reinsurance of the individual life insurance business portfolio of BBVA Seguros, the life insurance subsidiary of Spanish bank BBVA.  It is the largest deal of its kind to have been put in place in Spain.

Cravath – Time Warner’s Proposed Separation of Time Inc.

On March 6, 2013, Time Warner Inc. announced that its Board of Directors has authorized management to proceed with plans for the complete legal and structural separation of Time Inc. from Time Warner. Cravath is representing Time Warner in connection with this transaction. Following the proposed transaction, Time Inc. would be an independent, publicly traded company. Time Warner aims to complete the proposed transaction by the end of the calendar year.
