K&L Gates Enhances Corporate and Commercial Disputes Practices with Hong Kong Partner Additions

Global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes corporate and securities partner David Johnson and commercial disputes partner Samuel C. S. Ngo in the firm’s Hong Kong office. Johnson arrives at K&L Gates from Allen & Overy LLP, while Ngo joins from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the Hong Kong market, Johnson advises corporate and sovereign issuers and underwriters across the Asia-Pacific region on public and private equity and debt financings and other corporate transactions, including tender and exchange offers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and privatizations.

“I am very much looking forward to contributing to the growth of K&L Gates’ corporate and securities practice,” said Johnson.

Ngo represents PRC- and Hong Kong-listed companies, property developers, and others on a variety of complex commercial litigation and arbitration matters. These include disputes involving mergers and acquisitions, insolvency, pre-IPO finances, insurance claims, and construction, with Ngo also advising on regulatory compliance and investigation matters.

Ngo stated: “I am delighted to join K&L Gates’ commercial disputes practice and look forward to contributing to its strength and further growth.”

“David and Samuel strengthen and add breadth and depth to our regional capital markets and disputes practices, respectively, and bring their vibrancy to the Hong Kong office,” commented David K.Y. Tang, K&L Gates’ Managing Partner, Asia. “From trainees to seasoned partners, we are all very excited about their arrivals.”
