Robert E. Kinney, Esq. is the Founder and President of Kinney Recruiting. Robert is an alumnus of Phillips Academy at Andover, Massachusetts, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Texas School of Law. As an undergraduate student at the University of Pennsylvania, Robert studied International Relations and German. Robert spent a year studying at Ludwig Maximillians Universitaet in Munich and later interned at a law firm in Duisburg, Germany. At the University of Texas School of Law, Robert’s most valuable experiences were serving as a member of the Texas Journal of Business Law and working closely in Edinburgh, Scotland with a noted University of Texas professor (Hans W. Baade) on a major litigation that became the longest running trial in Scottish history.
Daniel J. Roark, Esq. is Managing Director of the Houston office and Austin office of Kinney Recruiting. Daniel has over five years of legal recruiting experience and has placed dozens of attorneys in markets across the globe. Daniel graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, where he received a BA in English Literature with a minor in Business and was also a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society. Following his undergraduate studies, Daniel spent two years in the Rio Grande Valley as an elementary school educator for Teach For America, an AmeriCorps program. Daniel then continued his educational endeavors abroad, teaching in the language department of the University of Guanajuato in Guanajuato, Mexico, one of the nation’s most decorated language programs.
Daniel returned to the University of Texas School of Law where he obtained his JD. During law school, he was a member of the Texas International Law Journal and spent a semester abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella where he studied international and comparative law.
Chris Miller is a recruiter in the Dallas / Fort Worth office of Kinney Recruiting. Chris received his B.A. from Texas Christian University and J.D. from University of Houston Law Center in 1997, where he was a member of the Houston Journal of International Law. He is admitted to the State Bar of Texas and spent several years as an associate in the litigation section at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP in the Houston office, specializing in products liability and commercial litigation. Prior to that, he was an admiralty litigator with Royston, Rayzor, Vickery & Williams in Houston.
Jack P. Hopper, Esq. is Managing Director of the Houston office and Austin office of Kinney Recruiting. Jack has over sixteen years of legal recruiting experience and has placed dozens of attorneys, including partners, associates and corporate counsel in markets across the globe. He has lived and recruited in Austin, Houston, Miami and Atlanta during his long career, and knows the intricacies of the practice of law and the stringent requirements of his clients. Jack comes from a long tradition of lawyers, and his father was a Senior Partner and Head of the Labor Section at Vinson & Elkins in Houston. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, where he received a BA in History and was also a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Following his undergraduate studies, Jack attended South Texas College of Law where he obtained his JD.
Rachel Huey began her legal recruiting career in Dallas after graduating from The University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in communications. After beginning her career specializing in the placement of litigation candidates, she has broadened her reach to include legal professionals in the corporate and financial spheres since joining the Kinney Recruiting team.
The path that lead Rachel to legal recruiting encompasses a diverse array of experiences. She completed collegiate internships in client side communications and account management in a variety of fields ranging from healthcare and digital marketing to public relations and real estate. While in school, Rachel was an active member of Texas Advertising Group, the Society of Professional Journalists, and Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She volunteered for Austin Pets Alive and also the Women Build Initiative for Habitat for Humanity.
