Holland & Knight Strengthens Litigation Practice in Houston with Addition of Annapoorni R. Sankaran

Commercial litigator Annapoorni (Anna) Sankaran has joined Holland & Knight’s Houston office as a partner. She was previously a shareholder with Greenberg Traurig LLP.

“I know from working with Anna in the past that she is a fantastic litigator and proven team player,” said Brad Hancock, executive partner of Holland & Knight’s Houston office. “Her arrival at the firm will greatly enhance our ability to handle an even larger volume of complex cases in Texas and strengthen our already deep litigation bench by adding significant bankruptcy capabilities.”

Ms. Sankaran is a commercial litigator with subspecialties in bankruptcy and bankruptcy litigation.

She has trial and appellate experience before federal and state courts, as well as experience representing clients in mediation and arbitration. In addition, she has significant experience with class actions and other complex litigation. Ms. Sankaran also has notable history advising clients on Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) matters, including with respect to the development and implementation of internal compliance programs.

Ms. Sankaran received a J.D. degree from Boston University School of Law and a B.A. degree from Boston University. She is admitted to practice in both Texas and Massachusetts. Ms. Sankaran was the first South Asian ever appointed as a minority director to the State Bar of Texas board of directors and she is both a 40-Under-40 honoree of the Houston Business Journal and the Boston Business Journal.
