A 17-year veteran of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and, most recently, a partner in the food and drug practice at another major global law firm, Mr. McConagha advises pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech, food and tobacco companies on government and internal investigations, FDA regulatory requirements, litigation, FDA enforcement issues and corporate transactions. His practice focuses on a broad range of FDA requirements as well as pharmaceutical and device quality issues, with a particular emphasis on current good manufacturing practice-related compliance matters. Mr. McConagha’s addition comes on the heels of another former FDA lawyer and regulator, Karen Corallo, joining the practice in March 2019. McConagha joins from the D.C. branch of Sidley Austin LLP.
BakerHostetler announced today that Ann O’Brien, most recently assistant chief of the Competition Policy & Advocacy Section and special counsel for Criminal Policy at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Antitrust Division, has joined the firm as a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia offices. O’Brien is the third recent notable addition to BakerHostetler’s Antitrust and Competition team, following Jeffrey Martino, former chief of the DOJ Antitrust Division’s New York office, and Marc Schildkraut, former assistant director with the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition in Washington, D.C. O’Brien will also serve as part of the firm’s White Collar, Investigations and Securities Enforcement and Litigation team.
