Hunton & Williams LLP continues to expand its national practice with the arrival of four real estate finance partners from SNR Denton. The addition of Brett L. Gross, Peter J. Mignone, Donald F. Simone and Mitchell G. Williams brings the firm’s real estate practice group to more than 50 lawyers. Before joining SNR Denton, the partners led the real estate finance practice at Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP.

Cooley Represents Quickoffice in its Sale to Google

Cooley LLP announced today that it is advised Quickoffice, in its sale to Google, Inc. Quickoffice is a leader in office productivity solutions, with an established track record of enabling seamless interoperability with popular file formats. Google has stated its intention of quickly bringing Quickoffice’s technology to its Google Apps product suite. The terms of the transaction were undisclosed.

The Firm represented the underwriters, led by Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated, UBS Securities LLC and Wells Fargo Securities, LLC as joint book-running managers, in connection with a public offering of 17,000,000 Depositary Shares, each representing a 1/40th interest in a share of 6.00% Non-Cumulative Perpetual Preferred Stock, Series B, par value $0.01 per share, with a liquidation preference of $1,000 per share, of The Charles Schwab Corporation. The Underwriters have the right to purchase up to an additional 2,550,000 depositary shares at the public offering price to cover over-allotments. The offering closed on June 6, 2012.
