Village Roadshow Entertainment Group (VREG) has announced it has obtained $275 million of new funding in a six-year mezzanine debt and equity arrangement provided by Trinity Opportunities Limited (Trinity). The facility was arranged by VREG in partnership with Hong Kong-based Shikumen Capital Management (HK) Limited (SCM).

On June 27, client Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company Limited (MSI) acquired 26 percent of India-based Max New York Life Insurance Company Limited for Rs 27.3 billion (approximately U.S. $475 million). MSI acquired New York Life’s entire stake in the life insurer, which is majority-owned by Max India Limited, a company listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

On June 27, client Time Warner Cable Inc. closed a £650,000,000 (approximately U.S. $1 billion) registered offering of 5 1/4% notes due 2042. The notes were offered in the United Kingdom. The bookrunning managers for the transaction were Barclays Bank PLC, Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch and The Royal Bank of Scotland plc. In connection with the notes offering, the company entered into cross-currency swaps to effectively convert its £650 million aggregate principal amount of fixed-rate British pound sterling denominated debt to fixed-rate U.S. dollar denominated debt.
