Ogletree Deakins Maintains Dramatic Growth in Philadelphia, Adds Shareholder Alexander Nemiroff

Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C. (Ogletree Deakins), one of the largest labor and employment law firms representing management, is pleased to welcome Alexander Nemiroff as a shareholder in its Philadelphia office. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Nemiroff, who focuses his practice on employment litigation, was a partner in the Philadelphia office of Jackson Lewis. Nemiroff is the fourth shareholder to join the Ogletree Deakins’ Philadelphia office in less than two years, continuing the office’s dramatic growth, expanding service to employers across the state of Pennsylvania, and strengthening the firm’s strategy in the northeastern region of the country. Led by managing shareholder Paul Lancaster Adams, who joined the firm in January of last year, the office has recently welcomed Min Suh, Zach Glaser, and Robert Seiger as shareholders.

White & Case Advises China Development Bank on Financing Weichai Power’s Acquisition of Germany’s Kion Group

Global law firm White & Case LLP has represented China Development Bank Corporation in connection with the €553 million acquisition financing for Weichai Power Hong Kong International Development Co. Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Weichai Power Co. Ltd, for the acquisition of a stake in Germany’s KION Group. The transaction represents the largest direct investment by a Chinese group in Germany to date.

Hogan Lovells Advises on £125m Industry First

Hogan Lovells advised The M&G Secured Property Income Fund and Allen & Overy advised Genesis Housing Association on the sale and 35 year operating leaseback of 401 residential apartments in Stratford for approximately £125 million. This transaction marks the first sale of this kind and on this scale by a housing association to a private investment fund. The transaction completed on 8 January 2012.

New Silicon Valley Office for Duane Morris

In a move to greatly strengthen its IP practice and better serve its clients, international law firm Duane Morris has opened a new office in Palo Alto.  The technology center was a logical step for the firm’s growing intellectual property litigation practice group.

The office will be managed by partner Karineh Khachatourian, who was recruited from K&L Gates.  She brings along one additional associate attorney to the firm, Patrick Salceda.  The pair bring stong experience in all manner of IP litigation work, including patents, trade secrets, trademarks, licensing, and enforcement.  They primarily serve clients in the software and video gaming industry so prominent in Silicon Valley.
