White & Case Expands Restucturing and Insolvency Capabilities with a New Partner in Paris

Global law firm White & Case LLP has strengthened its restructuring and insolvency capabilities with the appointment of Céline Domenget-Morin as a partner in its Paris office. Domenget-Morin will lead the restructuring and insolvency practice alongside partners Philippe Métais and Raphaël Richard.

Domenget-Morin has extensive experience with restructuring and bankruptcy law. She has worked on all stages of pre-insolvency proceedings (mandat ad hoc, conciliation) and bankruptcy proceedings (safeguard, judicial reorganization, insolvency proceedings), with a particular focus on European regulation on insolvency proceedings. Domenget-Morin advises banks, industrial groups, their shareholders, bondholders, and creditors as well as investment funds and turnaround funds.

Domenget-Morin notably assisted Eurotunnel in its safeguard procedure, which was a landmark case for the French market. Recently, she has worked on multiple LBO restructurings and has been involved in the sale and takeover of several companies in the midst of pre-insolvency proceedings or under bankruptcy proceedings.

Prior to joining White & Case, Domenget-Morin was a financial analyst at Lazard. She practiced as a lawyer at well-known French law firm Veil Jourde before being involved in the creation of Bremond & Associés, where she was appointed a partner in 2008. She graduated from ESCP Europe in Paris and holds Master’s degree in Business Law from the University of Paris X Nanterre.

“Advising clients in international restructuring transactions and in multi-jurisdictional proceedings is the primary focus of my practice. As such, the international network offered by White & Case has been a determining factor in my decision to join the firm,” said Domenget-Morin. “I am dealing with increasingly complex cases that require a high level of proficiency in litigation, employment, corporate and financing. Working with the renowned White & Case teams offers clients greater access to increased efficiencies and experience.”

Located in 26 countries, White & Case’s restructuring and insolvency practice groups benefit from an outstanding reputation around the world. With over 150 lawyers focused on local and international matters, and working across 38 offices, White & Case is regarded as one of the leaders in the field of restructuring and insolvency. Ranked as the number one in the world in the 2011 bankruptcy league tables published by The Deal magazine, White & Case is regularly involved in complex restructuring cases such as Materis, PagesJaunes Group, and Novasep, the first restructuring of its kind in France, where the restructuring was done by converting a high yield bond debt into capital shares.

“Céline’s experience in restructuring and insolvency will be extremely valuable to the firm, and further strengthens our local and international capabilities,” said White & Case partners Philippe Métais and Raphaël Richard.

“The arrival of Céline underlines our on-going ability to recruit talented people to our team for the benefit of our clients” said White & Case Paris executive partner Alexandre Ippolito.
