Loeb & Loeb Adds Four Attorneys to Trusts and Estates Department in Washington, D.C.

Loeb & Loeb LLP has added four lawyers to its growing Washington, D.C. office. The team joins the firm’s nationally-recognized Trusts and Estates Department, which now includes nearly 40 attorneys. The group is led by partner Mary Ann Mancini and includes two senior counsel, Susan G. Blumenthal and Tanya A. Harvey, and one associate,Caitlin L. Murphy. Most recently, all four attorneys practiced together at Bryan Cave LLP.

Husch Blackwell Attorney to Become U.S. Magistrate Judge

After 17 years as a successful trial lawyer, Partner Shirley Padmore-Mensah is leaving Husch Blackwell to join the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. She will take the bench for the first time on Sept. 10, 2012, as a new magistrate judge at the Thomas F. Eagleton Courthouse in St. Louis, Mo.

Simpson Thacher Represents Underwriters in $800 Million Debt Offering by WPP

The Firm recently represented the underwriters in connection with a registered public offering of $500 million of 3.625% Senior Notes due 2022 and $300 million of 5.125% Senior Notes due 2042, in each case, issued by WPP Finance 2010, a finance subsidiary of WPP plc. The notes are guaranteed by WPP plc and certain of its subsidiaries.

McDermott Advises JWC Acquisition SPAC on $500 Million Business Combination with The Tile Shop

International law firm McDermott Will & Emery LLP today announced that it successfully represented JWC Acquisition Corp., a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) sponsored by affiliates of J.W. Childs Associates, a Boston-based private equity firm, in its $500 million business Combination with The Tile Shop, a specialty retailer of manufactured and natural stone tiles, setting and maintenance materials, which operates 61 stores in 20 states. The combined company is named Tile Shop Holdings, Inc., and its common stock trades on the Nasdaq Global Market under the symbol “TTS.”
