Partnership Taxation Lawyer Monte Jackel Joins Akin Gump

Akin Gump is pleased to announce that Monte A. Jackel, a respected practitioner in the area of partnership taxation, has joined Akin Gump as senior counsel in its tax practice in Washington.

Mr. Jackel has practiced federal tax law for more than 35 years in both the public and private sectors, advising taxpayers ranging from Fortune 500 companies to closely held businesses and their owners. He also has substantial experience in public service, including serving as an attorney-advisor in the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Tax Policy working on many significant partnership guidance projects. In addition, Mr. Jackel has handled projects in other areas of federal tax law, particularly relating to financial products, corporate taxation and international tax. In the national office of the IRS’ Office of Chief Counsel, Mr. Jackel served as both the Associate Chief Counsel (Domestic-Technical), and later as a Special Counsel, in the P&SI division.
