Jones Day Adds Energy Partner David Martin Connelly to Washington Office

The global law firm Jones Day has announced that David Martin Connelly has joined the Firm in Washington, D.C. as a partner in the Energy Practice.

Experienced in many facets of energy law, Mr. Connelly has advised electric utilities and their affiliates on legal and policy matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and various U.S. Courts of Appeal for almost 20 years. He has worked on electric transmission matters including open-access transmission service, cost-of-service transmission rates, incentive transmission rates, generation and transmission interconnection matters, and the provision of wholesale distribution service. Mr. Connelly has also advised on NERC compliance matters, including self-reports, spot checks, and formal audits.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Connelly was senior counsel for Dominion Energy Services, Inc., where he represented the company in electric transmission matters and NERC compliance. He helped develop Dominion’s forward-looking formula transmission rate and obtain FERC approval of incentive rate treatment associated with more than $850 million of transmission enhancement projects.
