Frost Brown Todd Hires Labor Attorney Rick Etter in Pittsburgh

Labor and Employment attorney Rick Etter has joined Frost Brown Todd (FBT) as a Member in the firm’s Pittsburgh office. He joins FBT’s Labor and Employment Practice Group – a team of more than 45 lawyers and additional support staff in eight states across Mid-America – where he primarily will focus on defending employers throughout the country in complex employment litigation, including wage and hour class and collective actions arising under federal and state laws, and unfair competition litigation.

“Rick is a top labor and employment lawyer and an excellent complement to our existing local capabilities,” says FBT Pittsburgh Member-in-Charge Kevin Colosimo. “He’s an experienced litigator and counselor and adds tremendous value since wage and hour law is now the fastest growing source of employment litigation in the nation. Adding Rick to our team aligns with our strategy of diversifying and expanding our services across practice areas, and we will continue to actively recruit top lateral talent.”

Etter represents employers in all areas of labor and employment law, including labor arbitrations and collective bargaining negotiations, as well as preventive planning to avoid litigation. He has advised and defended a wide range of corporate clients in the energy, financial services, health care, communications, pharmaceutical, retail, and hospitality industries in discrimination and putative class and/or collective action matters brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Rehabilitation Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and other legislation. As a member of FBT’s labor and employment team, he will be litigating complex class actions, collective actions, and “hybrid” class and collective actions in state and federal courts for clients ranging from locally owned businesses to national, Fortune 500 companies.

Etter attended Cornell Law School, where he earned his J.D. in 2004. He was named one of 32 “2017 Lawyers on the Fast Track” by The Legal Intelligencer and has been included in each annual edition of Pennsylvania Super Lawyers® Rising Stars since 2011, recognizing him among the top up-and-coming labor and employment attorneys in the state.
