Hogan Lovells Warsaw Office Advises Amazon Group on Acquisition of Ivona Software Group

The Hogan Lovells Warsaw office has been providing advice to the Amazon group on its acquisition of the Ivona Software group of companies.

The Hogan Lovells transaction team was led by Tomasz Żak and Marek Wroniak, with support from Agnieszka Szczodra-Hajduk, Julia Walicka-Ostachowska and Michał Białobrzeski.

Ivona Software started its operation in 2001 and since then has established itself as a global leader in developing sophisticated computer speech synthesis technologies. The flagship product of the Polish company is the IVONA Text-to-Speech software which offers virtually human-like speech quality.

Amazon is widely considered to be the world’s largest online retailer and a pioneer in the business of e-commerce and new technologies.

The value of this transaction has not been disclosed to date.
