Shearman & Sterling Expands Leading M&A Practice With Private Equity Partner Brien Wassner

Shearman & Sterling announced today that Brien Wassner has joined the firm as an M&A partner in New York. Wassner comes to the firm from Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy where he was a corporate partner.

Wassner has extensive experience advising private equity sponsors, domestic and multinational privately held and publicly traded entities, hedge funds, venture capital funds and financial institutions on a wide range of corporate transactions and business combinations. These transactions include private equity investments, mergers, stock and asset acquisitions, going-private deals and joint ventures. He also regularly represents clients on debt and equity financing as well as general corporate and securities matters.
