Pillsbury Expands Corporate Trust, Project Finance Offering with Latest New York Hire

Michael Fruchter has joined Pillsbury’s rapidly growing New York office as senior counsel. Fruchter, who operates a broad transactional practice that spans the globe, comes to the firm from Perkins Coie LLP.

Fruchter primarily represents corporate trust companies and the corporate trust departments of major banking institutions in connection with numerous types of transactions. His practice ranges from traditional corporate trust transactions, such as front and back-end indenture work involving both corporate and municipal debt, escrow agreements and various types of agency agreements, to more sophisticated transactions including asset and security-backed financings.

“Michael has a diverse and extremely active practice that dovetails nicely with our existing strengths,” said Corporate & Securities Practice Section Leader Bob Robbins. “The additional knowledge and capacity he brings to Pillsbury will be of great benefit to our clients, and we are very pleased to have him on board.”

In addition to his active corporate trusts and agency practice, Fruchter also has extensive experience working on novel types of project finance deals in the United States, Asia and Latin America. His knowledge of the Latin American market in particular will add to the firm’s rapidly growing practice in the region. The firm was recently recognized by Latin Lawyer as one of the leading international law firms advising clients in Latin America.

“Pillsbury’s profile in Latin America has grown substantially over the past few years and Michael’s arrival will only help continue that trend,” said Peter Baumgaertner, leader of the firm’s Latin America practice. “He’s smart, collaborative and well-connected, and we look forward to rapidly integrating him into our group.”
