Pillsbury Adds Public Company Dealmaker Stephen Amdur in New York

Stephen Amdur, a highly regarded corporate lawyer who has been recognized as a “next generation lawyer” by Legal 500 U.S., has joined Pillsbury’s New York office as partner. He comes to the firm from Latham & Watkins.

Amdur operates a broad practice that spans public and private companies, private equity and venture capital investment funds. He advises on all manner of mergers and acquisitions, public and private financings, tender offers, joint ventures and other corporate matters and is frequently engaged to guide transactions involving U.S. and foreign companies.

His wide-ranging experience covers a variety of industries, including financial services, life sciences, media, sports, retail, chemicals, energy, telecommunications and manufacturing. Notable work highlights include representing Actavis plc in its $25 billion acquisition of Forest Laboratories; advising KKR & Co., L.P. in its $2.4 billion acquisition of Sedgwick; counseling Leonard Green & Partners in a $3 billion acquisition, along with TPG Capital, of J. Crew; and representing the DraftKings Inc.’s Board of Directors in the company’s high-profile merger with FanDuel Inc.
