Lawrence Hill Joins Winston & Strawn in New York

Winston & Strawn LLP is pleased to announce that renowned tax attorney Lawrence Hill has joined the firm as a partner in New York. Mr. Hill was previously a partner in the Tax Group of Shearman & Sterling where he served as Global Head of the Tax Controversy and Litigation Group, as well as Global Head of Financial Institutions.

He was formerly a Trial Attorney and National Tax Shelter Project Attorney with the Office of the Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service; and a Special Assistant United States Attorney with the United States Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C. Mr. Hill was also twice awarded Special Achievement Awards from the IRS for being one of the top trial attorneys in the country. He also served as Assistant General Counsel to a “Big Four” accounting firm.
