Jesse R. Dunbar Joins as Partner in New York City

Barclay Damon, LLP is pleased to announce Jesse R. Dunbar has joined as a partner in the firm’s New York City office. He was most recently with White & Williams, LLP in New York.

Dunbar will join the Insurance Coverage & Regulation, Professional Liabilities and Commercial Litigation Practice Areas and has over 20 years of experience representing insurance, reinsurance and corporate clients in the U.S., UK, Bermuda, and Europe on a variety of coverage, litigation, administrative, and other matters. Dunbar’s expertise and substantial client base will enhance the firm’s practice in the global and ever-expanding field of Reinsurance Law.

Dunbar served as an assistant general counsel in the U.S. for the global group of insurance and reinsurance companies of Aspen, a NYSE publicly-listed company, based in Bermuda. While at Aspen, and as part of a global legal team in the U.S., Bermuda and the UK, he counseled U.S., Canadian, and Latin American-based insurance and reinsurance businesses on a variety of legal matters, including dispute matters. He also was responsible for various corporate, transactional, regulatory and compliance matters. Dunbar has served on executive committees, including those relating to the global insurance and reinsurance business in the U.S., Canada and Latin America.
Before law school, Dunbar conducted economic and financial diplomacy for the U.S. in Europe and the Middle East on behalf of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for International Affairs of the United States Department of the Treasury.

He is a graduate of American University and Emory University School of Law.
