Bingham expanded its antitrust capabilities in New York with the addition of Stacey Anne Mahoney as a partner in the Antitrust, Competition and Trade Regulation Practice Group.
Joining from Gibson Dunn, Mahoney has extensive antitrust experience in federal and state courts as well as in matters before the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division and the Federal Trade Commission. Active within the New York antitrust community for many years, Mahoney has been a member of the New York State Bar Association Antitrust Section Executive Committee since 2005 and has served as past chair of the section.

In addition to her leadership roles within New York’s antitrust bar, Mahoney’s experience in court and before agencies is consistent with Bingham’s ongoing strategy of building upon its antitrust capabilities in key cities worldwide, according to senior litigation partner Richard Taffet. Most recently, Bingham announced the arrival of former European Union senior competition enforcement official Ted Henneberry to Bingham’s Washington, D.C., and London offices in March.

The caliber of Bingham’s antitrust group and its demonstrated investment in the practice appealed to Mahoney, who lectures and writes extensively on international and domestic antitrust issues.

The arrivals of Mahoney and Henneberry are the most recent additions reflecting Bingham’s long-term strategy of investing in its antitrust ranks. In 2010, Bingham expanded its antitrust team in London with the addition of Davina Garrod from McDermott Will & Emery. In 2009, Hill Wellford, former chief of staff of DOJ’s Antitrust Division, joined Bingham’s D.C. office. In 2008, Bingham added three antitrust partners to the D.C. office from Clifford Chance, Leiv Blad, Jon Roellke and Boyd Cloern. In 2007, Bingham’s antitrust presence in Japan grew with combinations with two leading Tokyo firms, Sakai & Mimura and New Tokyo International.
