Jones Day Adds M&A and Private Equity Partner Jackie Hodes in Miami

The global law firm Jones Day has announced that Jackie Hodes has joined the Firm’s global M&A Practice as a partner, and will be based in its Miami Office. Ms. Hodes arrives from the Miami office of DLA Piper.

“Jackie complements our strong domestic M&A and Private Equity team in Miami and her arrival marks another important addition in our continued growth,” said Pedro Jimenez, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day’s Miami Office. “A South Florida native, she has advised numerous clients throughout the state in a variety of transactions and her experience will be of great value to our clients, including the many private equity companies that are increasingly moving to and doing business in South Florida.”

Ms. Hodes focuses her practice on complex global transactions for strategic buyers and sellers, private equity fund sponsors, and family offices with a strong emphasis on groups doing business in the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. She also advises private equity firms and early stage companies in corporate transactions, corporate governance, equity compensation, and general day-to-day legal matters. Ms. Hodes handles transactions across a broad range of industries, with a particular focus on health care, life sciences, health insurance, and transportation and logistics.

“Jackie joins a global M&A team that continues to make investments that extend the synergy between it and our Private Equity Practice,” said Bob Profusek, Global Chair of M&A at Jones Day. “We have a long history of advising buyers and sellers in transactions throughout the state of Florida, and her arrival helps further cement that rich heritage. As our private equity clients continue to expand into Florida and deploy capital for deals in Latin America and around the world, her experience is a great fit for our M&A and Private Equity practices and for our flourishing presence in Miami.”

Ms. Hodes earned her J.D. from University of Miami Law School, and her B.B.A. from Florida International University. She was recognized as one of South Florida’s Most Influential Business Women by the South Florida Business Journal, and by Chambers USA on its “Up and Coming Corporate/M&A Lawyer of the Year” shortlist.
