Gunster hires shareholder to private wealth services practice in Miami

Gunster, one of Florida’s oldest and largest full-service business law firms, is pleased to announce Mary Karr has joined the firm as a shareholder in the Miami office.

Karr is a member of Gunster’s private wealth services practice and has experience in estate planning internationally and domestically, in probate and trust administration, litigation and tax controversy.

karr_mShe has been consistently named as a Super Lawyer by Florida Super Lawyers, and was also named as a Rising Star in estate planning and probate in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Karr has been recognized as the Best of the Bar by the South Florida Business Journal, is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been included in Best Lawyers in America for many years.Karr graduated with her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University in 2000 and then proceeded to earn her L.L.M. om taxation from New York University School of Law the following year.

A frequent speaker, Karr has presented on a variety of topics including at a wide range of locations including as a guest lecturer annually for Barry University’s financial planning course.

Gunster’s private wealth services practice has been growing over the last few months including with the addition of shareholder Robert Jacobowitz in the West Palm Beach office.

The practice overall has consistently earned high marks as 11 attorneys from the practice earned a Best Lawyer listing in 2015. Elaine Bucher, a shareholder in the West Palm Beach office, was named a Lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers in the trusts and estates category for the West Palm Beach area.
