Clifford Chance advises Mitsubishi Corporation on its acquisition of Cermaq ASA

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance has advised Mitsubishi Corporation on its voluntary cash offer for the entire issued share capital of Cermaq ASA, a multinational fish farming group listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. The acquisition, which is valued at approximately NOK8,880million (£838million) completed earlier in November.

An international Clifford Chance team advised on the transaction, led by Corporate Partner Kathy Honeywood with support from Associate Katelyn White. New York Partner Ivan Presant also advised on US corporate issues. London Head of Antitrust Alex Nourry advised on antitrust aspects supported by Associates Chandralekha Ghosh and Elizabeth Sinclair. In Paris, Partner Patrick Hubert was supported by Counsel Amélie Lavenir and Associate Marie de Drouas, in Tokyo, Partner Tatsuhiko Kamiyama was supported by Senior Associate Masafumi Shikakura, in Warsaw, Counsel Iwona Terlecka was supported by Associate Patrycja Szot and in Washington, Counsel Tim Cornell was supported by Associate Brian Concklin.

Cermaq received approval to delist from the Oslo Stock Exchange and its shares ceased to trade on 14 November 2014. Cermaq ASA is now a private company.
