Paul, Weiss Adds Two Leading Corporate Partners in Hong Kong and Beijing, Names Jeanette Chan as Managing Partner

Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP announced today that Betty Yap and Judie Ng Shortell will join the firm as partners in its corporate department, resident in Hong Kong and Beijing, respectively. Both Ms. Yap and Ms. Shortell will focus on cross-border M&A and private equity transactions.

The firm also announced that corporate partner Jeanette Chan has been appointed Managing Partner of the firm’s China practice.

Ms. Yap earned her Bachelor of Laws, First Class Honours, from the University of Melbourne and her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne.

Ms. Shortell received an M.A. in Jurisprudence from Oxford University.

Ms. Chan has practiced at Paul, Weiss since 1986 in New York, Beijing and Shanghai before relocating to Hong Kong. She is frequently recognized as one of the world’s leading PRC law practitioners, particularly in M&A, PE and the communications, media and technology industries.
