Evan P. Jowers, Esq. is Managing Director of the New York and Hong Kong offices of Kinney Recruiting. Evan is a graduate of Boston University School of Law, where he was a G. Joseph Tauro Scholar. He completed part of his law degree abroad at Oxford. At the University of Florida, for undergrad, Evan majored in Russian and was a member of the Phi Sigma Iota International Honor Society.
Upon graduating from law school, Evan worked as an associate in the Private Client Group of Cadwalader, Wickersham and Taft's New York offices, where his practice focused on international tax planning for high net worth clients.Evan subsequently served as general counsel for an international manufacturing company, based in Miami, with a number of factories in Russia and Ukraine, with over 3000 employees. Before entering law school, Evan lived and worked in St. Petersburg, Russia, as an executive staff member of the St. Petersburg International Business Association, a lobbying group for hundreds of major international companies, firms, and foreign consulates with a presence in Northwest Russia. Before graduating from the University of Florida, Evan also spent two years in active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Russian Linguist, with honorable discharge. Prior to joining Kinney Recruiting, Evan served as a Managing Director for another major national attorney recruiting firm and he has over four years recent experience in high-level attorney recruiting, with a focus on major law firms, top boutiques, and in-house positions in New York, the Asia markets, and elsewhere. Evan is an extraordinarily successful recruiter and he has made multiple attorney placements in a number of jurisdictions, including Japan, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, United Kingdom, California, New York, Texas, Colorado, Florida, District of Columbia, Louisiana, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. Evan was born in Singapore and was primarily raised in New Orleans, where he has extensive family. Evan has for several years been splitting time equally between New York and Miami and considers both cities home. He travels frequently to Hong Kong, as well. Evan is admitted to practice law in New York. When he does have time off from his busy recruiting practice, Evan can often be found traveling to interesting destinations, with a focus on Eastern Europe, where he has personal ties; or he might be supporting Gator athletics, the New Orleans Saints, or the New York Yankees. |
