King & Spalding Adds Healthcare Partner in Atlanta

King & Spalding announced today that Phillip H. Street, who has more than 25 years’ experience in the healthcare and life sciences field, has joined the firm’s Atlanta office as partner. Street was previously chair of the Atlanta healthcare practice at Paul Hastings.

Street’s practice focuses on healthcare and life sciences transactions, including business formations, clinical integration and alignment, strategic alliances, venture financings, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and the commercialization of life sciences research. He represents a range of clients, including hospital systems, life sciences companies and medical research organizations. He has also advised multiple academic medical centers and health systems in the creation of intellectual property, joint development and commercialization entities.

“Phillip has a rare combination of significant experience advising companies and investors in both the healthcare and life sciences space,” said Jon R. Harris, Jr., co-head of King & Spalding’s life science and healthcare practice group. “As the firm looks to expand its transactional work in healthcare and life sciences, having a versatile lawyer like Phillip, with a local and national reputation, will be a big benefit to the practice.”

“I have great respect for the many King & Spalding lawyers whom I have known for years,” said Street. “The culture, combined with its current momentum and long-term commitment to growing its healthcare and life sciences practice, made King & Spalding the perfect fit for me.”

Ranked by Chambers USA for healthcare expertise, Street has also been recognized by Tech Journal South as one of the “25 of the Most Influential People in the Southeast Technology Community.” Street received his B.A. and J.D. from Vanderbilt University and his LL.M. in taxation from New York University. He began his legal career at King & Spalding.
