International law firm McDermott Will & Emery expanded its Transactions practice today with the addition of Christian Fabian who joined as partner in the Chicago office. Christian’s practice focuses on M&A and private equity with particular expertise in cross-border transactions involving Latin America. The addition of Christian expands the Firm’s capabilities in its growing Latin America group, and adds bench strength to the Firm’s robust M&A and private equity practices. Fabian joins the firm from Mayer Brown LLP.

Greenberg Traurig Expands Atlanta Intellectual Property & Technology Practice with Addition of Nigamnarayan Acharya

Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP is further expanding its Intellectual Property & Technology Practice in Atlanta with the addition of Nigamnarayan Acharya, who joins as a shareholder. Acharya focuses his practice on life sciences and pharmaceuticals. His practice areas include domestic and foreign patent and trademark prosecution, as well as domestic and international portfolio development, management, enforcement, and licensing.  Acharya was previously with Lewis Brisbois.

King & Spalding’s Global Human Capital and Compliance Practice Adds Partner in Chicago

King & Spalding today announced that Jake Downing joins the firm as a partner in the Corporate, Finance and Investments practice group, and as part of the recently-launched Global Human Capital and Compliance (GHCC) practice. Downing, who specializes in global executive compensation and employee benefits issues, will be based in the Chicago office. Downing joins from Seyfarth Shaw, where he led its Executive Compensation group, and is a colleague of Darren Gardner, Amanda Sonneborn, Dominic Hodson and Luke Edwards, who joined King & Spalding in the fall of last year.
