Lewis Brisbois Strengthens Cybersecurity Team in New York with New Partner Hire

Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Maria Efaplomatidis to its New York office as a partner in the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice. Ms. Efaplomatidis brings to Lewis Brisbois two decades of experience counseling domestic and foreign insurance carriers on issues including data privacy and cybersecurity claims. Efaplomatidis joins the firm from Mendes & Mount LLP in New York.

Throughout her career, Ms. Efaplomatidis has helped clients manage risk and exposure for complex claims, often arising from criminal misconduct and data security incidents. She has regularly advised clients on U.S. data protection law and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance. In addition to her data privacy work, Ms. Efaplomatidis has extensive experience handling professional liability matters with a focus on accounting firms, including the Big Four firms. She has directed high-profile and high-exposure litigation and regulatory matters centered on fraud, conspiracy, securities violations, and malpractice, as well as U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Department of Justice (DOJ) investigations. Moreover, she has recently facilitated investigations regarding pandemic loans..
