David Vaughan Returns to Dechert from SEC Division of Investment Management

International law firm Dechert LLP announced today that David A. Vaughan has returned to the firm as a partner in the Financial Services Group. Vaughan left Dechert in March 2009 to join the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Investment Management, where he served for the last two years as the senior private fund policy adviser on all aspects of legal and regulatory policy related to private funds.

Global law firm White & Case LLP represented Los Esteros Critical Energy Facility, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Calpine Corporation, in connection with the US$373 million financing for the construction and expansion of a natural gas-fired, combined-cycle power generation facility. The expansion, now under construction, will add 120 MW of new capacity to the existing facility in San Jose, California, and is expected to be completed by mid-2013.

Olswang Advises BBC Worldwide on a BBC Magazines Transaction

Olswang has advised BBC Worldwide on a sale and licensing deal in relation to its consumer magazine business.
