Milbank Represents Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation In $7.3 Billion Acquisition of RBS Aviation Capital

International law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, represented Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in their acquisition of RBS Aviation Capital, creating the world’s fourth largest commercial jet aircraft leasing and finance company, for US$7.3 billion from The Royal Bank of Scotland plc. This is the largest disposal by RBS since the government bailout in 2008.

Dechert Expands Presence in Germany with Opening of Office in Frankfurt

Dechert LLP announced today that it has expanded its presence in Germany with the opening of an office in Frankfurt. Achim Pütz, who joined the firm in 2010, will serve as the managing partner for the office. He will be joined by Dr. Carsten Fischer and Dr. Benedikt Weiser, who have been elected as partners in the Financial Services group.
