O’Melveny Represents Leonard Riggio, Barnes & Noble Founder, in Planned Proposal to Purchase Barnes & Noble’s Retail Business

O’Melveny & Myers LLP is representing Mr. Leonard Riggio, founding chairman and largest stockholder of Barnes & Noble, Inc., the leading retailer of content, digital media, and educational products, in his planned proposal to purchase all of the assets of the retail business of Barnes & Noble, Inc. The retail business would include, among other things, Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Inc. and barnesandnoble.com. The retail business would not include NOOK Media LLC (comprising the College and digital businesses). The Company has appointed a Strategic Committee of three independent directors to review and evaluate the proposal.
