Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP today announced that attorney Darius J. Goldman has joined the firm as a partner in the Financial Services Practice.

Goldman represents commercial banks, investment banks and hedge funds in their purchase or sale of trade claims, private securities, bank debt and other investments in domestic and international companies undergoing financial distress. Recent significant matters include MF Global, American Airlines Inc., Eastman Kodak, Bernard L. Madoff (feeder funds and direct investor claims) and Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.
He provides transactional guidance to clients that originate, restructure and trade distressed assets in both domestic and foreign proceedings. In the context of the bankruptcy filings of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. and its debtor affiliates, Goldman continues to advise a number of financial institutions in connection with the settlement of their claims against various debtor entities and has developed a proven auction process for the rapid monetization of recognized claims.
Goldman, who counsels clients on mechanisms to manage credit risk exposure to their trading counterparties, has personally negotiated and settled hundreds of transactions for the transfer of secured, administrative expense, general unsecured claims and customer claims. He also advises clients with respect to OTC swaps and derivatives transactions and negotiates ISDA Master Agreements and credit support documents for financial institutions, dealers, asset managers and end-users.
