Strauss, who arrives at the firm from the Houston office of Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P., where he was a partner since 1991 and served as head of the firm’s securities practice group. Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP advised Genesis Energy, L.P. in its private placement of $350 million of 5.75 percent senior unsecured notes due in 2021, up from the previously announced aggregate principal amount of $300 million. The deal closed on February 8.
