Cahill – MGM Completes $1 Billion Notes Offering

Cahill represented BofA Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank Securities, RBS, and SMBC Nikko as joint book-running managers and the co-managers in connection with the Rule 144A/Reg S offering of $1,000,000,000 aggregate principal amount of 6.75% Senior Notes due 2020 by MGM Resorts International. Proceeds from the offering will be used to refinance existing indebtedness.

Shell Represented by Bracewell in $1.9 Billion Purchase of Chesapeake’s Permian Basin Assets

Bracewell & Giuliani LLP is representing SWEPI LP, a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell, in its agreement to purchase Chesapeake Energy Corporation’s assets in the southern Delaware Basin portion of the Permian Basin. Shell has agreed to pay Chesapeake $1.9 billion for 618,000 net acres in the Permian Basin that produce approximately 26,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Hogan Lovells Adds Five New Intellectual Property Partners in Silicon Valley and San Francisco

Hogan Lovells announced today that Edward Kwok, Jennifer Lantz, Steve Levitan, Christian Mammen, and Clark Stone have joined as partners in the Intellectual Property (IP) practice.
