Hogan & Hartson’s Geneva office has announced that instead of merging with Lovells, it will be joining forces with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. The office, consisting of seven lawyers will officially be a part of Akin Gump on May 1st. Geneva will be Akin Gump’s third office in Europe, the other two including London and Moscow.

Although Lovells has plans to close its Chicago office, the firm will continue to expand its New York office following the merger with Hogan & Hartson. The firm is famous for rarely making a lateral hire and it continues to be cautious about making such decisions.
