Intellectual Property Attorney Joins Barnes & Thornburg’s Delaware Office

Barnes & Thornburg LLP announced today that Joan Kluger has joined the firm’s Intellectual Property Department as a partner in the Delaware office. Kluger comes from Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP, where she served as co-chair of the Intellectual Property Group and managing partner of the firm’s Delaware office.

Kluger focuses on patent and trademark procurement and licensing arrangements, and also has served as counsel in litigation involving intellectual property. Among other technology areas, her practice has included patenting inventions directed to integrated circuit design, semiconductor device manufacturing, energy production systems, medical devices, chemical processes, videography equipment, industrial manufacturing equipment and financial industry software.

Kluger has been active in a variety of bar and trade organizations, taught physics at the University of Delaware and Delaware Technical Community College, and served as an adjunct professor at Widener University Law School. She earned her B.A. in natural science from Johns Hopkins University, completed her M.S. course work in physics at the University of Delaware, and obtained a J.D. from Widener University School of Law.

In addition to being registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, she is licensed in the states of Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
