Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Eric D. Greenberg has joined the firm’s Technology Transactions & Privacy and Mergers & Acquisitions practices as a partner in the Washington, D.C. office. Eric was previously a partner at Paul Hastings LLP where he practiced media and technology deals, for which he was a winner of The Financial Times’ 2016 award for innovative lawyers.
Eric has built a practice focused on complex and innovative transactions and advisory matters across the telecom, media and technology sectors. He frequently advises clients on transactions integrating strategic commercial and regulatory matters involving the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), including
transactions related to FCC spectrum sharing and other innovative deal and regulatory strategies. Eric also dedicates his practice to advising large financial institutions and private equity groups on media investments, in addition to M&A and strategic investment work.
“Eric’s knowledge and experience will further enhance the firm’s ability to develop and execute innovative transactions for clients across the telecom, media and technology sectors, especially as a part of our already strong FCC practice,” said Marcelo Halpern, Co-Chair of Perkins Coie’s Technology Transactions & Privacy practice. “From providing counsel on spectrum auctions to complex broadcast media transactions, financings and M&A, Eric has a truly impressive background and we’re excited he is joining Perkins Coie.”
“The telecommunications, media and technology sector continues to evolve at a rapid pace and Eric’s deep insights and substantial experience will further benefit our clients across the U.S. and globally,” said Marc Martin, Firmwide Chair of Perkins Coie’s Communications industry group. “Eric will further strengthen our team and ability to help clients navigate often complex industry transactions and the government’s regulatory process.”
In addition to his private practice, Eric served in the Office of Legal Counsel at the Department of Justice and was a law clerk for the Honorable Harold H. Greene of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
“We continue to strategically expand our regulatory capabilities in Washington, D.C. – including before the FCC – and Eric’s deep expertise in media and technology align strongly with our clients’ needs and business goals,” said Bruce Spiva, Managing Partner of the firm’s Washington, D.C., office. “Eric’s practice will complement and enhance our strong team of telecom, technology and M&A partners.”
Eric has received numerous accolades and recognitions during his career that include being named by Chambers USA as a leading lawyer in “Telecom, Broadcast & Satellite” each year since 2006 and as a leading lawyer in “Media & Entertainment” every year since 2015. Eric received his J.D. with high honors from The George Washington University Law School and his B.A. cum laude from Tufts University.
