Patrick Haney Joins Jones Day as Partner in Business & Tort Litigation Practice in Washington

The global law firm Jones Day announced today that Patrick Haney has joined the Firm as a partner in its Business & Tort Litigation Practice. He will be based in Jones Day’s Washington Office. Haney comes to the firm from Kirkland & Ellis LLP

Mr. Haney represents companies in their most challenging commercial disputes and most sensitive government investigations. He has litigated a wide range of complex disputes in federal and state courts across the country, including trade secret, product liability, False Claims Act, and mass tort cases. Mr. Haney also has significant experience litigating class actions and multidistrict litigations across a variety of industries, and has deep experience in aviation and defense-related matters informed by his nine-year military career as a U.S. Navy pilot.

At Jones Day, Mr. Haney joins a global team of experienced trial lawyers who serve clients in business and government disputes, torts and civil litigation, from counseling through trial and appeal. He will provide Jones Day’s clients with litigation counsel related to class actions, product liability claims, mass tort cases, and False Claims Act disputes. Jones Day’s litigators have taken more than 100 high-stakes cases to trial in the last three years.

Prior to beginning his career in private practice, Mr. Haney completed two federal judicial clerkships: Judge Edith Brown Clement of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit; and Judge Sara E. Lion of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.

Mr. Haney earned his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Tulane University. Prior to attending law school, he served for nine years as a U.S. Naval Aviator and is a veteran of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Southern Watch. He was named the 2004 Helicopter Anti-Submarine Light Pacific Wing Pilot of the Year by the U.S. Navy.
