Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international law firm, today announced that Mark R. Spivak has joined the firm’s Global Projects Practice. Mr. Spivak is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office.
Prior to joining Baker Botts, Mr. Spivak was the Co-Chair of the Project Development and Finance Practice at Vinson & Elkins.

Mr. Spivak’s practice is focused on project development, project finance, and related transactions, including public-private partnerships and advising clients in the investment, acquisition and restructuring of domestic and international projects in the power generation, renewables, electric transmission, oil and gas and transportation sectors. He has particular expertise in representing sponsors in the development and financing of major energy infrastructure projects involving development funding institutions and export credit agencies.
Mr. Spivak received his BA from Muhlenberg College and his JD from Georgetown University Law Center, where he served as Editor of The Tax Lawyer.
