Knicole Emanuel has joined Nelson Mullins, LLP’s healthcare team in Raleigh. She joins as a partner from PractUS, LLP, where she was also a partner.

Emanuel has devoted more than 23 years to a healthcare litigation practice, with a focus on Medicare and Medicaid litigation, health care regulatory compliance, administrative law, and regulatory law. She possesses a deep understanding of the complex Medicare and Medicaid payment system, the distinctive business of health care providers, the interplay of federal and state Medicare and Medicaid regulations, and the actions of state agencies that impact the operations of health care entities.

Knicole has considerable experience trying administrative cases, having argued over 2,000 cases in more than 30 states, and has also appeared before multiple states’ medical boards. In numerous states, she has successfully obtained federal injunctions that enabled health care providers to continue operating despite accusations of health care fraud, inappropriate billing, and data mining.
