Jones Day Welcomes Koren Wong-Ervin as Partner in Antitrust & Competition Law Practice

Koren Wong-Ervin has joined the Firm as a partner in the Antitrust & Competition Law Practice. She will be based in the Washington Office.  The firms latest addition arrives from the DC office of Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider LLP.

Ms. Wong-Ervin has almost 20 years of experience practicing antitrust law as a government attorney, in-house counsel, and as a private practice attorney. She has represented defendants and plaintiffs in high-stakes antitrust litigation disputes, and she has advised some of the world’s largest technology companies in domestic and foreign competition law investigations. Ms. Wong-Ervin is also a recognized industry thought leader who has testified before Congress on domestic and international antitrust issues, and her scholarship has been cited by courts and the Department of Justice in antitrust cases.

At Jones Day, Ms. Wong-Ervin joins a globally integrated Antitrust & Competition Law Practice, which has successfully represented clients in many of the most challenging and complex antitrust matters, including transactions, investigations, litigation, and compliance counseling. The group includes a network of lawyers in business centers worldwide, providing clients with depth in all areas of antitrust law across the United States, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

Ms. Wong-Ervin has authored more than 70 articles and spoken at more than 300 domestic and international conferences. Her scholarship covers a broad range of topics, including vertical mergers and restraints, acquisitions of potential competitors, consummated mergers, multisided platforms, and the intersection of antitrust and intellectual property.

“Koren has a deep understanding of the multiple perspectives that are often at play when working with government regulators, corporate executives, and judges to resolve complex antitrust law matters,” said Noel Francisco, Partner-in-Charge of the Washington Office and the former Solicitor General of the United States from 2017-2020. “Her addition to our antitrust practice further deepens our strength in counseling clients in the United States and worldwide on competition law issues that will be resolved here in Washington.”

Ms. Wong-Ervin earned her law degree from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, and her undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University.
