Jones Day Welcomes Business & Tort Litigation Partner Matthew Papez to Washington Office

The global law firm Jones Day has announced that commercial litigator and trial attorney Matthew Papez has joined the Firm’s Business & Tort Litigation Practice as a partner in its Washington Office.

Mr. Papez focuses primarily on complex commercial litigation, with over 17 years of experience representing clients in a wide range of matters, including product liability cases, contract disputes, fraud cases, trade secrets cases, securities litigation, corporate governance and merger litigation, fraudulent conveyance litigation, and environmental tort litigation.

Mr. Papez also has deep experience in aviation litigation, where he has successfully defended clients in product liability and mass tort cases in both U.S. and foreign courts.

Mr. Papez has been recognized by The Legal 500 U.S. for his work in Product Liability and Mass Tort Defense: Aerospace/Aviation, and in Trade Secrets litigation. A member of the District of Columbia Bar, he was previously a law clerk for Chief Judge Procter Hug, Jr. of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
