Daniel M. Casto Joins Offit Kurman in Tysons Corner

Offit Kurman continues to expand its presence in Tysons Corner with the addition of Daniel M. Casto. Formerly associate general counsel to a publicly traded company, Mr. Casto joins the firm’s Business Law and Transactions Practice Group as a principal-level attorney. He is the eighth lawyer to affiliate his practice with Offit Kurman in October.

“I consider it a privilege to join this dynamic law firm,” he said. “Offit Kurman is home to over a 125 skilled practitioners whom I now have the opportunity to work alongside. I look forward to our future together.”

A graduate of Ohio Valley University (summa cum laude) and West Virginia University College of Law, where he was ranked #1 in a class of 152, Mr. Casto has spent the last seven years building his legal reputation in diverse contexts. His experience includes advising financial institutions, private corporations, and a NASDAQ-listed company on matters such as corporate governance, SEC requirements, contract negotiation, public policy, and mergers and acquisitions. Aside from acting as associate general counsel to American Public Education, Inc, Mr. Casto has practiced at the law firms Sullivan & Cromwell and WilmerHale, and has served as Legislative Director for former Congresswoman, now Senator, Shelley Moore Capito.

Mr. Casto is a member of the Bars of the District of Columbia, Virginia, and West Virginia. Additionally, he has been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). In 2011, Ohio Valley University named him its Young Alumnus of the Year.
