Bird & Bird Appoints New Intellectual Property Partner in Sweden, Monique Wadsted

International law firm Bird & Bird has appointed well known intellectual property lawyer Monique Wadsted as a partner in its Intellectual Property Group and Media, Entertainment and Sport Groups, based in Stockholm.

Monique has a wealth of experience in the IP sphere, with a particular focus on Media and Entertainment. She gained recognition when she represented the US movie industry against the notorious Swedish file-sharing website “The Pirate Bay”. She also represented one of the parties in the landmark case “Svensson et al C-466/12” regarding a linking and copyright matter before the Court of Justice. Monique has also advised on several cases before the Swedish Supreme Court regarding various intellectual property matters. Monique Wadsted has been recognised in The Legal 500 Hall of Fame for her work around intellectual property and media issues.

Monique assists both Swedish and international clients with issues related not only to IT law and intellectual property, but also to marketing, media, gaming, entertainment and music, litigation and arbitration.
