Olswang Strengthens Its International TMT Offering with the Arrival of Two New Tech Partners

International technology, media and telecoms law firm Olswang has boosted its Technology and Sourcing practice with the arrival of two new partners to its London and Singapore offices this autumn. The move follows the addition of Green Technology and Renewables partner Martin Hammer to the firm’s German team in May.

After an initial period in London, Ian Ferguson will be joining Olswang’s Asian base in Singapore. Ian, who joins on 1 October from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, has significant experience of outsourcing transactions, advising both suppliers and customers. Ian also advises on technology and communications infrastructure and integration projects, electronic banking, e-commerce and data transmission arrangements, as well as on technology related acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures. Prior to Pillsbury, Ian spent over 25 years at Allen & Overy where he was global leader of their TMT practice.

Ross McKean will join Olswang’s London office on 5 November after 16 years at Baker & McKenzie’s London office. Ross has extensive experience in non-contentious and contentious IT, outsourcing, communications and telecommunications projects. He regularly advises users and suppliers in highly regulated sectors, notably the financial services sector and the telecommunications industry.

Welcoming these strategic additions to the Technology and Sourcing practice, Olswang CEO David Stewart commented: “Growing our international Technology and Sourcing practice is key to ensuring that are we are true business partners who continually build our team to reflect client’s needs. Ian’s substantial experience will support our Asian base which is essential to servicing our TMT clients in the region and will become increasingly central to the continuation of our sector focus strategy, and Ross’s arrival will give new senior leadership to our European Data Protection practice.”
