K&L Gates Expands Electronic Discovery Practice with Addition of Seattle Partner

The Seattle office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP has added Rachel Tausend as a partner in the e-Discovery Analysis and Technology (e-DAT) practice. Tausend joins K&L Gates from the Washington, D.C., office of Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young, LLP, where she was a co-founder and chair of the firm’s e-discovery team.

Tausend advises businesses and individuals on e-discovery issues arising from regulatory examinations, investigations, enforcement actions, and litigation. She has substantial experience assessing and reviewing information from large and complex data repositories as well as developing cost-effective strategies for the organization, preservation, collection, analysis, and production of electronically stored information and other records.

Also an experienced securities enforcement lawyer, Tausend has counseled clients such as public and private companies, boards of directors, and audit committees in a wide range of enforcement and litigation matters and in international investigations, including those involving alleged regulatory compliance deficiencies, insider trading, accounting and financial irregularities, and breaches of fiduciary duties and contracts.

“We are delighted to welcome Rachel to K&L Gates,” said Pallavi Mehta Wahi, administrative partner of K&L Gates’ Seattle office. “Rachel’s extensive experience in civil litigation, compliance examinations, government investigations, enforcement actions, and internal investigations provides a strong practical foundation for her role in our leading e-DAT practice and will help to broaden the scope of services provided by that group.”

The K&L Gates e-Discovery Analysis & Technology (e-DAT) group has been at the forefront of the e-discovery sector for more than a decade, delivering creative, efficient, and cost-effective records management, e-discovery, and litigation services to a broad range of clients across multiple industries.
