BakerHostetler is proud to announce that Inge Larish has joined the firm as a partner in the Intellectual Property practice and patent litigation team, resident in the Seattle office. She comes to BakerHostetler from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman in San Diego.
With more than 20 years of patent litigation experience, Larish works with multinational technology companies in the mobile device, software, wireless, semiconductor, and computer engineering and architecture industries. She has extensive experience counseling clients as they develop standards for video and audio processing. With a background in programming and mathematics, she has handled a wide variety of cases in the electrical and computer sciences.
Larish has represented clients in U.S. International Trade Commission investigations and has litigated cases throughout the country and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Larish has served as first chair and lead counsel in numerous cases and courts, including the Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas and the Western District of Washington. Her experience encompasses all stages of patent litigation through trial and appeal; claim construction briefs and hearings; technical and expert depositions; hearings; expert reports; Daubert hearings; interlocutory appeals; preliminary injunctions; summary judgment practice, including oral argument; pre- and post-trial motion practice; and appellate practice.

Larish co-edited a chapter on inter partes review in The PTAB Handbook published in 2015 by Bloomberg BNA Library and edited by William Atkins. She is a former law clerk to Judge Paul Michel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
She received her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1994, where she was the articles editor of the University of Illinois Law Review. She was recognized with the University of Illinois Rickerts Award for Excellence in Legal Writing and received American Jurisprudence awards in property, civil litigation and torts. She was awarded a NASA post-baccalaureate research fellowship and a graduate student award by the Society for Information Display for her research on aviation displays. She received a master of science in human factors engineering in 1991 and a bachelor of science in 1988 from the University of Illinois.
Larish joins the firm shortly after fellow IP litigator Steven Spears was announced as an addition in BakerHostetler’s Houston office. Together they bolster the firm’s national patent litigation presence. BakerHostetler’s Intellectual Property Group has more than 160 dedicated IP attorneys, with more than 100 lawyers and patent agents registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
