Andrew Escobar Joins Seyfarth’s Litigation Team in Seattle

Seyfarth announced today the arrival of Seattle partner Andrew R. Escobar to its growing Litigation department. Escobar was most recently a Litigation partner at DLA Piper in Seattle.

Escobar has a multifaceted litigation practice, covering securities, trade secrets, consumer class actions, real estate, and complex commercial litigation. In addition to his traditional litigation work, Escobar regularly advises businesses and individuals in government investigations, including clients in the emerging cryptocurrency/digital asset industries. He is admitted and frequently practices in Washington, Oregon, California, and New York.

“Andrew is an accomplished litigator with demonstrated strengths in a number of our most important practice areas,” said James McGrath, chair of Seyfarth’s Litigation department. “His tremendous versatility expands the commercial litigation services we provide throughout the country from our new Seattle office.”

Escobar is the latest Litigation partner to join Seyfarth’s new Seattle office. Last summer, the firm announced the arrival of Government Contracts partner Adam Lasky. In July, Seyfarth announced the formal launch of the office, the firm’s first in the Pacific Northwest and fifth on the West Coast. Seyfarth’s Seattle office is currently comprised of 15 lawyers, including nine partners, from a cross-section of the firm’s nationally ranked departments.

“Our team is excited to welcome Andrew to the new office. He has a deep understanding of the Puget Sound business community and has counseled many of the nation’s largest corporations with operations in Seattle,” said Denice Tokunaga, co-managing partner of Seyfarth’s Seattle office.

“Andrew has a successful record representing clients in complex and high-value litigation. He’s a key addition as we continue to grow our team in the Pacific Northwest,” said Thomas Wybenga, co-managing partner of Seyfarth’s Seattle office.

Escobar is the current president of the Board of Directors for Washington Wild, a nonprofit organization that protects wild lands and rivers in Washington through advocacy, education, and civic engagement. He earned his J.D. from Yale Law School and received a B.A., summa cum laude, in History and Political Science from the University of Southern California.
